The Division of Mineral Resources database includes more than 40,000 wells and 4,500 mines. DEC staff use GIS software and Global Positioning Systems (GPS) equipment to map the locations accurately. DEC's data management system supports on-line, interactive mapping of mines and regulated wells. Spatial extracts from the Census Bureau’s MAF/TIGER database for use with geographic information systems (GIS) software. The geodatabases contain national coverage (for geographic boundaries or features) or state coverage (boundaries within state).

The UN Atlas of the Oceans is an Internet portal providing information relevant to the sustainable development of the oceans. It is designed for policy-makers who need to become familiar with ocean issues and for scientists, students and resource managers who need access to databases and approaches to sustainability.

The Geospatial services include general cartography and thematic maps, geospatial data management, earth observation, advanced analytics, webservices, guidance and Secretariat responsibilities to UN-GGIM.

The PCL Map Collection includes more than 250,000 maps, the PCLMC has digitized 70,000 maps from the print collection and has also forged partnerships with local and national archives to create a more comprehensive online map collection. Highlights items with connections to current events or of particular historical relevance.

Over 2,700 maps and atlases from around the world are available online in hi-res.

The largest and most comprehensive cartographic collection in the world with collections numbering over 5 million maps, 100,000 atlases, 8,000 reference works, over 5000 globes and globe gores, 3,000 raised relief models, over 130,000 microfiche/film, and a large number of cartographic materials in other formats.

Digital collections include a wide-array of scanned maps.
